BEAUTY SALON FIRST TO MOVE INTO PRESTIGIOUS NEW CHAPEL STREET DEVELOPMENT

The owners of a popular nail and beauty salon which opened in Rugby three years ago have expanded the business by opening a second branch within a brand new town centre development.

Husband and wife Sonny and Linh Tran, who own Emma’s Nails & Beauty in North Street, opened their second salon within the prestigious Chapel Street development at the end of September.

The Salon is the first business to open within the £25 million, 43,241 sq ft development. Other units have been taken by Asda and the Heart of England Co-operative Society.

Speaking of the move into Chapel Street, Sonny said: “We hadn’t been deliberately planning to expand but with this exciting development coming to Rugby, and with Asda opening as part of it, we decided to look for a small site within the complex.
“We opened towards the end of September and since the opening we have had a lot of positive feedback and people have praised the shop and the Chapel Street development itself.

“So far it has been an excellent move and we are confident things will continue to further improve as more businesses move in.”

Asda opened their flagship store in June this year. The Heart of England Co-operative Society, which has been in Rugby since 1862, has taken two units for a £2.95 million Electrical, Furniture and Carpets store – representing the largest ever single investment made by the Society.

Ali Kurji, Chief Executive of the Heart of England Co-operative Society, said: “The re-development of Chapel Street marks the dawn of an exciting new era for shoppers in Rugby and brings to an end 20 years of uncertainty about the future of the site.
“The development is in a prime site in the town centre and we are delighted to be involved in the project right from day one as we have been in Rugby for almost 150 years.”

The store is expected to open in the Spring of 2010. The existing electrical store in nearby Sheep Street will close and relocate in the new development together with furniture and floor covering departments.

There are 13 remaining units within the Chapel Street development – ranging from 332 sq ft to 6,032 sq ft.
