HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY UNVEILS £513,000 RE-FIT
The Heart of England Co-operative Society has unveiled plans for an ambitious refurbishment project for its Lateshop in Coniston Way, St Nicolas Park, Nuneaton.
The store is the latest earmarked for
re-branding under the Co-operative identity, after successful re-brands at Earlsdon, Crick, Southam and Hinckley.
As part of the £513,000 project the new-look store will include a featured wines and spirits area with a chilled wine unit, a new-look sales area, a Food To Go section and a Co-operative Bakery preparation room. There will be new automatic doors at the front of the store, a new sales floor, new lighting, a new frozen food section and a wider range of fresh food.
The scheme will also include new staff facilities, a staff canteen, fascia signs and a
re-surfaced, re-lined car park with 16 spaces.
Work has just started on the project and it is scheduled for completion in September.
Peter Fletcher, General Manager of the Society's Food Division, said: "We are delighted to unveil our plans for the new Co-operative in Coniston Way, St Nicholas Park, Nuneaton.
"As part of our new look sales area the inside of the store will be transformed from a horse-shoe shape to rectangle, which will make our customers' shopping experience easier as it is allowing us to make better use of the space inside the store."
He added: "This is the first time in almost a decade we will have made any major investment in the store but in that time our customers have remained truly loyal to us and we are delighted to be in a position to re-pay that loyalty by providing them with a fresh, vibrant store, filled with a wider range of goods, in particular fresh food and dairy."
The store will remain open throughout the re-fit.
