BURBAGE WOMAN JACKIE APPOINTED MANAGER OF THE HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY HINCKLEY DEPARTMENT STORE
A Burbage woman has been appointed Store Manager at the Heart of England Co-operative Society’s Hinckley Department Store.
The appointment marks the start of a new era for Jackie Gilchrist, who had previously worked at Woolworths for 27 years.
In her time at Woolworths Ms Gilchrist was manager of the Hinckley branch for four and a half years in the 1990s. She went on to manage branches in Nuneaton, Leicester and Royal Leamington Spa, where she was based when Woolworths announced the closures.
Ms Gilchrist said she was delighted to bring her skills and experience to the Heart of England Co-operative Society.
She said: “The Heart of England Co-operative Society is very similar to Woolworths. Both have a deep-rooted history in Britain and both organisations are more focused towards the customer.”
Ms Gilchrist added: “Already I see there is a lot of potential with the Hinckley Department Store and I am looking forward to bringing in a number of fresh ideas to take it forward.”
Bryan Wheatley, General Manager Non-Food and Travel Division, said he was delighted to welcome Ms Gilchrist to the Society.
He said: “Jackie has a wealth of retail experience and is full of fresh ideas. I believe her external experience from the Co-operative will be of tremendous benefit to the Society and its Hinckley customers and we are delighted to have her on board.” |
