A TASTE OF ITALY AT THE HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY

The Heart of England Co-operative Society is celebrating all things Italian, with some great new products and fantastic promotions in store.

From April 20th to May 10th Society customers can take advantage of a third off selected Italian products in all Foodcentres and Lateshops across Coventry, Warwickshire and south Leicestershire.

The Society, the largest independent retailer in the region, will encourage customers to cook some simple Italian meals bursting with flavour using fantastic Co-operative ingredients or complete meal solutions.

The Co-operative has worked closely with a specialist Italian company to develop a new range of premium pasta sauces. The traditional, slow cooked sauces are made using ingredients that you’d find in your kitchen, and can be used to create authentic dishes that could easily be passed off as home-made.

Made in Italy the store cupboard sauces are slow cooked for a full and rich flavour. The cooking process begins with an authentic soffritto of onions, carrots and garlic. Soffritto means to sauté gently. The softening of these key aromatic components, before the rest of the ingredients are added, gives the finished sauces a rich, rounded flavour.

The Society has also launched two new fresh pasta sauces into its premium range – a versatile fresh green pesto and a rich, velvety porcini mushroom and Madeira sauce.

To accompany and complement the sauces, the Co-operative is also introducing a new range of premium Truly Irresistible pasta products including lumaconi and pennoni rigate. This will provide customers with a fabulously easy Italian meal solution to bring a bit of pizzazz to any night of the week.

For pizza lovers, two new varieties have been added to the Society’s premium Truly Irresistible range. Choose from either freedom food ham, mushroom and mascarpone or slow roasted pepper and tomato toppings. Both new pizzas are hand stretched and baked in stone ovens to give a crisp base, and have melt in the mouth toppings.

To accompany the main dishes and make a real feast customers can also try the newly launched rustic Truly Irresistible multiseed garlic baguette or Italian garlic and herb doughballs, and finish off their pasta or pizza dishes with shavings of Truly Irresistible parmesan cheese.

Customers can also take advantage of the Heart of England Co-operative Society’s fantastic Italian feast meal deal and feed the whole family with delicious meat balls, sauce, spaghetti, garlic bread and salad for just four pounds

And to top it all off there will be some great half price Italian wine offers available in store.
