HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER – FOOD DIVISION
The Heart of England Co-operative Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Fletcher as General Manager of its Food Division.
Peter is responsible for the Society’s 33-strong network of Foodcentres and Lateshops in Coventry, Warwickshire and south Leicestershire.
His appointment comes 26 years after Peter first started working with the Society.
At the age of 17 he joined the International Stores in Aldershot, Hampshire, as a Trainee Manager. He went on to become Store Manager and later moved to their Superstore Division.
In February 1983 Peter came to Rugby and worked as a Store Manager in Manning Walk and in April 1996 he was promoted to the position of Area Manager. In October 2001 he was promoted to the position of Deputy General Manager - Food, the position he held for 9 years until his recent promotion.
Peter said: “I am absolutely delighted to have be en offered the position of General Manager-Food.
“These are very exciting and challenging times for the Society, particularly the Food Division. We are in the midst of an aggressive re-fit programme. Our Earlsdon Store has already been re-furbished and re-branded under the new Co-operative brand in a move which has provoked some tremendous positive feedback and we will be finalising the branding of our stores over the coming years and bring them all up to scratch to meet Society standards.”
Peter lives in Lutterworth with his wife Glynis and 23-year-old daughter Amanda.
In his spare time he enjoys watching sport, particularly football and athletics.
